Rad all snuggled in for a long nap!

We had tried taking Mietta to another cattery to be bred for the first time since we didn’t have a boy of our own, but she backed up in the corner and would have NOTHING to do with the boy!  She was not in her own territory and wanted to go home RIGHT NOW!  So, we would have to bring a boy to her if we wanted her to have kittens.  Plans changed, we adapted and luckily we had Cheryl McConnell willing to help us out.  She loaned us “Rad” for Mietta, so we brought him home to meet her.  Rad is one of those exceptional boys who don’t spray so he could also have the run of our home.  He was one very happy boy and fit in immediately.  He and Mietta took their time getting to know each other and finally produced the very handsome Purry Catsanova for their first litter in 2003.  He was perfect in every way!

Rad is a huge cream and white boy with a neck the size of a small bull!  He has brought heavy boning and size to our kittens along with delightful white socks and boots!  Rad passes on his love of feet to his kittens too…he’ll rub and rub on bare feet, shoes, slippers…whatever he can wrap his ear or cheek around!  Funny what traits are inherited by the kittens!  He is also known to be unruffleable.  Our big Golden Retriever Barkley has accidentally bowled him over and rolled him across the floor while he was trying to catch a ball or toy in the house.  Rad picks himself up and moves out of the way…not mad at all!  This is another trait he passes on to his kittens.  They take life and all new adventures in stride!  These cats truly have a zest for life!

Mietta and Rad and have combined all their best traits and given them to the kittens they have blessed us with.  Each kitten is unique.  Each kitten is lovely in his or her own way.  Each kitten brings joy to everyone’s heart who meets them. Each kitten is a blessing and a treasure…and yes, parting with each one is the hardest thing I have to do!  That’s why choosing their new families take lots of deliberation and time!

Rad says...that's all folks!  I'm tired!

My heartfelt thanks go to Kate and Doug Campbell for breeding such a wonderful boy and to Cheryl McConnell to let him continue to live with us.

The ripple effect continues...
